Professional and Community Education

The Alcoholism Council offers comprehensive, ongoing programs of professional education and training for teachers and chemical dependency, mental and public health professionals who work with individuals and families who are encountering substance abuse in their lives. The Council will custom design training programs for topics related to alcohol and other drugs.

Standard courses include:

Beginning and Advanced Counseling Skills
Basic Course for Human Service Professionals
Ethics
Prevention
Codependency
And other topics relevant to substance abuse

In addition, the Council offers a comprehensive program of training for specific prevention programs
such as Kids Connection and Teen Institute.
