The Alcoholism
Council provides a variety of direct treatment services including
assessment, outpatient counseling, and intervention. These services are
made available on a sliding fee scale. For the deaf and hearing impaired,
the Council employs an American Sign Language interpreter during education
and counseling programs. The Council structures its Treatment Services to
fill identified gaps in our community service delivery system.
Treatment
populations include those individuals capable of functioning in a Level 1
outpatient environment (typically seen one time per week). In addition,
services are provided for people awaiting placement in a more intensive
treatment program, those exploring the need for alcohol or other drug
related treatment, people seeking support for their recovery, family
members seeking to increase their quality of life or wanting to decrease
enabling/self-destructive behaviors, and consumers involved in treatment
elsewhere who need additional counseling services to address problems such
as domestic violence, family dysfunction and trauma resolution.

of a loved one's alcohol and/or drug use. This can be achieved through
education, counseling, and/or intervention services. Intervention
effectively promotes change and facilitates movement towards recovery and
treatment. The Council is a part of the National Intervention Network and
employs certified interventionists to address these concerns. Our family
education group is a four-week series designed to provide education on
alcohol and other drugs, enabling/co-dependency, and intervention services.
Anyone in the community is welcome to contact our clinicians for more
information about interventions and the education/intervention group. To register, please call Margaret Leistler, 281-7880 ext. 153. CURRENTLY MEETS MONDAYS FROM 5:30 p.m. - 7:30
